Men's Matters News

On Thursday 19th October from 12.00-14.00 at Maidenhead Town Hall (Desborough Suite), Men's Matters will host a public discussion on the question, 'How do we reach the invisible men?'

In September 2017 Men’s Matters won their category of Team of the Year at the annual RBWM and WAM Voluntary Sector Awards, held at Maidenhead Town Hall. They received a trophy and citation from the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Cllr. John Lenton.

In September 2017 Men’s Matters launched two new weekly drop-ins. Now older men can attend drop-ins from 2-4pm as follows:

Monday - All Saints, Dedworth

Tuesday - Longwood House, Langley

Wednesday - York Rd. Centre, M'head

In May 2017 Men’s Matters became a registered charity and re-launched in both Windsor and Slough, hosted by Radian Housing Association  At the Windsor Launch the Guests of Honour were the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Cllr. John Lenton and his wife Margaret.

Men's Matters participated in the SWAMI17 Community Street Showcases in Windsor, Slough and M'Head during July 2017 where we enthusiastically manned a stall on 3 weekends - really making Mens Matters visible on our local High Streets! 

At the Slough re-launch also in May 2017 the Guests of Honour were the Deputy Mayor of Slough Borough Council Cllr. Paul Sohal and the Leader of the Council Cllr. Sohail Munawar. Both re-launches were attended by our partners from the local councils, charity groups and private companies.

Men's Matters has attracted recognition from charities and support from other orgasniations and received the Radian Community Award in June  2017.

Men's Matters are on the Suicide Prevention Steering Group run by the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead (RBWM), and have received various grants and donations for example 7 laptops were  donated from Segro – Slough Trading Estate.

Men's Matters were nominated in February 2017 for a TPAS (the Tenants Particpatory Advisory Service) Southern Region Finalist for Excellence in Community Action

Men's Matters have received a letter of commendation earlier in 2017 from the local Maidenhead MP the Rt. Hon. Theresa May the Prime Minister
